A small group checked into the net this rainy day morning including Mary, Gary, and Roger. Under old business, we discussed Roger’s ongoing lawn project, now having set the blade a notch or two lower to prepare for the five days of rain we expect to have this week.
Apparently, the state of Missouri is planning to increase EV tax 20% during the next few years. The vote is still out. Further more, sources don’t explain what it is exactly. 20% of what? Mary looked at the Internet and gleaned from her brief research that EVs weigh more than comparable vehicles. And of course, then there are the crazy drivers doing whatever they can do to get arrested by driving from the back seat… what’s with that?!
We briefly touched on other crazy folks, like those getting married to people they’ve never met. Huh?
Roger’s off the hook with his zoning concerns. He’s grandfathered. His neighbor is thinking of reducing the size of his shed to make it a playhouse. Speaking of cabins, Mary was researching places to stay in the Ozarks so she can earn a new patch for her backpack. We also discussed cabins in Maine, and Western New York.
Mary indicated a lady that neglected to feed her hummingbirds had them pecking at her window demanding service! John brought up the California Condor news stating maybe better hummingbirds than birds the size of a Great Dane. Apparently, 20 or so of these enormous birds have been roosting on someone’s deck causing considerable damage. This year is supposed to be the year of the 17-year Cicada. Look online for the best recipes on how to prepare them for your guests. With enough garlic and butter, who knows?
Based upon the limited responses we’ve had to the survey, it looks like we’ll try meeting in person on Wednesdays according to the schedule posted by Russ in February, 2019. By my reconning, this coming Wednesday is the third one of the month. Do your own research. So, no Zoom nets on Wednesday from this point forward. We’ll still meet at 0800 Central on Saturday for at least another week and see how it goes.
